My dear friends,

It is with a heavy heart that I must cancel the Winter Getaway Yoga Workshop in Florida.  A week ago, I had hoped that we could still safely come together to provide inspiration and support for each other during this challenging time.  As all of you are aware, each day brings forth new information and I feel that our priority now is to stay healthy and to mitigate the spread of Covid-19 to others.  The latest news from epidemiologists is that "social distancing" should be practiced for at least the next 4 weeks in order to "flatten the curve" of the virus contagion.  (We are learning new terminology!)

Although we are not able to meet in person at this time, please know that we are all connected in spirit, in love, and through our daily yoga practices.  This is the time to go deep into your home practice.  Practice the sequence for building your immunity with inversions and restorative poses.  Practice forward bends to reduce anxiety and backbends for instilling courage and countering depression.  Practice Pranayama daily to quiet the mind and to keep your heart open.  Practice Meditation, to feel connected with others through compassion and loving kindness.

As we are asked to distance ourselves physically from others, we must keep our hearts open and find ways to feel nourished and connected.  This may be the time to walk in nature, to delight in the beginning budding of Spring.  Listen to your favorite music, or to the singing of the birds outside.  Although we need to stay informed by news, find time to read poetry, novels, or uplifting books. Perhaps we can support each other by sharing what inspires you or practices that you are finding helpful during this time.  In the words of Clarissa Pinkola Estes,

"Struggling souls catch light from other souls who are fully lit and willing to show it.  If you would help to calm the tumult, this is one of the strongest things you can do."

I am exploring options of rescheduling the workshop for a date next Winter.  If you are interested in attending a Windhorse Retreat in Vermont with me this summer or early Fall, please let me know and your payment can be applied to that retreat.  I will be in contact as I have more information.
